Cinabre bow ties film debut

Action ? For sure, it feels good in such a difficult period. This fall, Cinabre makes its film debut and we continue our commitment to the “Bleuet de France” charity, a French association supporting victims of war and terrorism. While Paris is in lockdown, we keep up the pace!

OUR BOW TIES ON A MOVIE SCREEN

We were very proud to see our “Tartan McRae” bow tie on the movie screen. In fact, our new star accessory is worn by one of the main characters during the whole movie “Adieu les cons”, which was released in France a few weeks ago. We won’t translate the movie title as I am sure you already heard of it but the word “con” is one of the favorite impolite expressions used by French people. Albert Dupontel is actually the movie director and main actor along with Nicolas Marié and the French actress Virginie Efira. Albert Dupontel is a highly regarded artist in France : he has been awarded three times at the Cesar Ceremony (in 2014 and 2018), the equivalent to the Academy Awards in the USA.

We were very proud to be part of this artistic project. It was an honor to attend the film preview next to all the engineers and actors involved and to watch Cinabre mentioned in the credits. We are very grateful to Albert Dupontel and his production team.

SUPPORT "LE BLEUET DE FRANCE"

Cinabre has been collaborating with le Bleuet de France charity for 3 years. For each sale of the linen flower lapel pin, 40 € is donated to Le Bleuet de France to fund its various projects and especially helping victims of terrorism.

The only two flower species to grow on the World War I battlefields are the poppies - worn by the British every year on Remembrance Day - and the “bleuet”, the cornflower. The French remembrance symbol was created by two head nurses in Les Invalides during WWI. They organized workshops for the war wounded where cornflower badges were made from tissue paper. These were sold to the public, providing them a small income and some activity.

For the last 3 years, we have been creating these limited edition flower lapel pins celebrating Le Bleuet de France. Thanks to your support we helped two needy orphan brothers who were adopted by the French Nation after they lost their parents in the 2015 terrorist attacks. They can now study engineering and business. We did also support a young woman who was injured during the Nice 2016 attack. We participated to her scholarship and she is now a student in Canada.

The Cinabre Bleuet are now available on our website. As usual we do it local with high standard craftsmanship. The Cinabre Bleuet is handcrafted in a "haute-couture" workshop located in Paris which was founded in 1727. It is one of the last "plumassier" (feather artisan) in the world.
