Dreaming of a French summer

In France, for the last few days we have been able to go out and enjoy the sun without any official authorisation… The summer is there already with temperatures rising quickly: the sun is taking things seriously. At Cinabre, the beginning of summer is no laughing matter neither : we just launched a trio of caps made for no-quarantine trips or drinks on a Parisian terrace. But that's not all. This summer, our caps will take you even further away.

WHERE DO THE CAPS COME FROM ?

Every season, Cinabre designs a new collection of caps with a few limited editions. The approach remains the same as for all our pieces : local, craftsmanship, sustainable. Our caps are entirely made in France, handcrafted in Jurançon by a hatter who has been the supplier of all the Parisian Haute Couture houses since 1945.

WHY YOU WON'T FORGET YOUR CAP AT THE BEACH

A wealth of detail you don't want to forget in the sand. Inventory :

What you see from the outside

The fabrics : we chose three of our finest fabrics. A blue and white striped linen, an authentic seersucker and a tweed-like, highly textured fabric with its linen and cotton loops.

Under the cap visor : our signature is on the back of the visors with the Cinabre red silk twill.

What you don't necessarily see inside

The inner lining: it is made of cotton poplin with very thin stripes. It is the most hidden and refined finishing, which also helps to maintain the cap's initial shape.

The quilted cotton band: it goes around the head and enables a better comfort when you will be wearing the cap.

The Cinabre customized label : your name and a date can be handwritten on the label.

WHAT'S GOING ON UNDER THE VISOR

THE ISLANDS WHERE THESE CAPS FEEL LIKE GOING

Each Cinabre cap is a nod to one specific island where I would like to share my favorite addresses with you.

The "Noirmoutier n°1" cap

The inspiration. This cap inherited the colours of my childhood summer holidays on the island of Noirmoutier. The one-storey houses, the Atlantic ocean and my mother's decoration : everything is white and blue. Hard to have a better seaside spirit.

The address. A Michelin 2-star restaurant looms almost incongruously on the island's fishing port. You can discover "La Marine" thanks to Netflix Chef's Table (episod n°2 of the season dedicated to French restaurants). It is delicious even on a screen. Bon appétit!

The “Cape Cod” Cap

The inspiration. Seersucker and preppy: the “Cape Cod” cap mixes the style of the great East Coast universities with a vintage twist.

The address. Every year I manage to do an inspirationnal trip in the USA. This summer, I was initially planning to visit Cape Cod and its neighboring islands. I was looking forward to visiting the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution... I will have to wait for 2021 summer!

The “Île de la Cité” cap

The inspiration. A Haute Couture tweed fabric that only swears by Paris and keeps its mooring lines on the banks of the Seine.

The address. When you will be able to visit Paris again, take a seat on one of the public benches in the shade of the Place Dauphine, located on the Ile de la Cité. Probably one of the prettiest place in Paris: it looks like a postcard with its chic boules players.
