Space attacks! The Summer 2020 blockbuster at Cinabre is the new collection of ethereal scarves "Here They Come". A squadron of flying saucers looms on the horizon to bring colours to the earthlings, stuck on the ground. Where do they come from? Are they acting with peaceful intentions? Will they land around your neck ?
FROM SPACE WITH LOVE
Our new scarves pay tribute to the aesthetics of science fiction in the 1970s. As for all our pieces, the philosophy remains the same: local, craftsmanship, sustainable. Fabrics - These large scarves of 55x55 inches (140x140cm) are made of cashmere and modal, in order to provide an ultra-soft and very light touch. Savoir-Faire - The scarves are designed in Paris, in Cinabre studio and printed in Italy, in a workshop close to Lake Como. The pieces are manufactured in France, near Lyon. Colours - Four scarves, two moods : sunset for the "Here They Come" scarves with coral or khaki borders ; summer night for the "Here They Come" scarves with mustard or navy blue border.
MY LIBRARY FROM OUTER SPACE
I displayed in our Cinabre boutique part of my book collection about science fiction and space. These remote and unknown places are the source of inspiration for most of our scarves designs. Our creativity takes off more easily with flying saucers!
One of my favourite books: Past Forward by the French photographer Vincent Fournier. I would love to travel to Hawaii, to the Manau Kea observatory, in order to discover the volcanic and somewhat Martian landscape that was his first source of inspiration, with science fiction movies and legendary space centers (Cap Canaveral, Star City...). When you look at his photos, you never know whether you are dealing with a mise-en-scene or true reality. Disturbing but captivating. Ps : If you like his work, I recommend as well his photography book "Brasilia", published by our friends at Be-Poles, the successful Parisian creative studio.
ALREADY A CULT SOUNDTRACK
Just a week ago Jeff Mills, Detroit's legendary DJ-producer, released the soundtrack he composed as a tribute to the cult film Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott (probably the movie I've watched the most). The link to Jeff Mills soundtrack.
