The Crown ties collection
After 2 long years of waiting, amidst some scandal and sad news, Season 5 of The Crown will finally grace our screens again tomorrow. Like many fans, we at Cinabre have very much been looking forward to it. And to make it seem like time has been going by more quickly, for the last few months we’ve been working on tie patterns having to do with The Royal Family, and more precisely Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. On account of the death of The Queen, we considered delaying the release of the collection, as things just didn't feel right, or the same. But, it was also a respectful way to pay tribute to her and show our admiration.
"THE CORGIS" TIE
English style, and its aristocratic nonchalance, has always been a source of inspiration for me. If you recall, I’ve already touched on the subject with our merino wool varsity scarves. Remember? The release of the latest season of The Crown is an opportunity to pay homage to Great Britain and the inimitable style of The Queen.
Apart from her colorful outfits, the other fitting element of Elizabeth's style was her corgis: She bred more than 30 during her lifetime and there are at least as many on our ties.
What diplomatic troubles were defused by their presence?
Muick, Sandy, Willow, Rose, Laurel, Larch, Jasmine, as well as Cindy, Appolo and Windsor L.S. Among others...
We couldn't help... We've made a bowtie version.
"THE QUEEN" TIE
Our The Queen tieis a nod to The Queen's iconic color-block outfits and ever-present black patent handbag, along with her sensible black heeled shoes, and otherworldly headwear. Her style is essentially a cleverly constructed uniform that is instantly recognizable. Well done, Your Majesty!
We also slipped in one of her steadfast outfits, tartan, that transport us to Scotland, her favorite vacation spot.
The ties in our The Crown collection are made in France in a navy blue silk jacquard. The patterns were designed in our Paris studio, now located at 14 cité Bergère, just above our new boutique. As for our handmade production, that takes place in our Loir et Cher atelier, as usual.
Save the date for Season 5! To devour with shortbread biscuits dipped in black tea, of course.
