'Le Crunch' Tie

Story

This tie was designed as a tribute to 'Le Crunch', the iconic rugby match between France and England. The club stripes are in the colours of both teams and the symbols that appear at the bottom are the two emblems: the rose for the English rugby team and the rooster for the French rugby team. 
The only rugby match to have received such a nickname is the infamous rivalry that has carved its place into the sport’s history: Le Crunch. In English, “to crunch” means “to crush” or “to crack”, but “the crunch” means “a crucial or defining point” (after which there may be consequences). So, Le Crunch refers to the hundred years of France-England confrontations, somewhere between blows and outbursts, with some underhanded tricks thrown in for good measure.
The first match between France and England dates back to 1906, and since then the two teams have met more than a hundred times. After a victory at Twickenham in 1967, Christian Darrouy, winger for the French team, sent General de Gaulle a telegram saying, “Mission accomplished!” That’s vibe.

Fabric

The fabric is a mate silk with a pattern designed in the Cinabre Parisian studio. The tie lining is the signature red twill silk.

This tie was carefully handcrafted by Cinabre artisans in France, following the same techniques for 3 generations.

Details

This piece is entirely handmade with a red slip stitch making a loop at the bottom of the tie. The fabric will then keep its elasticity and the tie will recover its initial shape after being used.

To make your tie even more unique, a name or initials and a date can be handwritten on the label.
